As Harrison has grown, the needs of the community for exposure to art has grown. There are more people interested in the stories art has to tell, and in giving their children art education, and there are more local artists who want to give to the community and show their works. Therefore, the Harrison Art League is more important today than ever to satisfy these needs.
The Harrison Art League has always been a non-profit organization, but we applied for and received non-profit status from the IRS in 1994. This means that donors may deduct contributions. This also opened an opportunity for the HAL to apply for grants. At the same time, HAL was located on Main Street in downtown Harrison. It has since moved into its current location which is inside the Backyard Framer Shop with it's Blue Sky Gallery for exhibits and Art Shows. We as an organization are truly ?On the Move?.
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.
Art is knowing which ones to keep.

The Harrison Art League (HAL) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and Professional Art League for the Arts, Culture & Humanities. HAL is one of the founding members of the Ozarks Arts Council in Harrison Arkansas. With the opening of the Blue Sky Gallery on the square in downtown Harrison, HAL now has a beautiful home to showcase the talents of their members and other artists. We offer two competitions a year and quite frequently more.
HAL is an organization that is open to artists of many different genre, painting, pastels, photographers, potters, sculptors and anyone who just has a love for the arts. With a new gallery we are able to display works of art lovingly put together by our local talent. The exhibited pieces are changed or re-arranged each month to give everyone involved a unique opportunity to showcase their fantastic artwork on a regular basis.
Come see the Blue Sky Gallery and while you are there, fill out and application and become a part of us.
